BWMCH Scholarship Policy 2011-2012

It is the intent of Bryant Woods Montessori Children's House (BWMCH) to provide financial assistance to children based on family eligibility. Financial assistance is granted in the form of partial scholarships. Determination of eligibility is by decision of the Executive Director of BWMCH.

The following guidelines are used for this determination:

Scholarship fees will be limited to 50% of the total tuition and limited to a total of one year per family.
Qualified applications will be kept on file for one year.
Scholarship(s) will be granted based on a first come first served basis.

Admissions Process for New Students

Our goal is to have you see our approach to the Montessori philosophy so that you can assess if it is consistent with your parenting philosophy and with what you want for your child. We have found that children do well in our program when parents are knowledgeable about the program and comfortable with the decision to send their children here.

Parent Classroom Observation & Interview with School Head.
Child Visit to Classroom (30 minutes).
Both the school and the parents agree that the child will benefit from our program.
Submit Application and fee of $100.00.
Receive contract on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Return contract within 30 days with a deposit of 20% of tuition.
Beginning of the summer you will receive an orientation packet with heath forms, school forms and school calendar.
Attend Summer Playgroups with your child.

Admission Criteria

Children must be three years of age within one month of our admissions dates. Admission dates are September 1st and January 1st. Children must be 5 years of age by September 1st to be eligible to attend our Kindergarten program.
Children must be toilet trained and be able to use the toilet independently.
Please keep in mind that the Montessori program is based on a well-integrated three year curriculum and in the case of an older child, we may require previous Montessori experience.

Guidelines for Selection

Applications to BWMCH will be taken according to the following priority:

Currently enrolled students who have applied for re-enrollment
Siblings of currently enrolled students
Siblings of former students
New students on a first-come, first-serve basis according to a pre-determined date

Placements will be determined by the Executive Director according to the Montessori principles balancing age and gender in the classroom.
